🍂 There’s Just Something About Fall in Northern Ohio!

October is here, and we have to admit—this is one of our favorite times of year! The leaves are changing, football is in full swing, the sweatshirts are coming back out, and our communities around Norwalk, Milan, Huron, and Erie County just seem to look a little prettier in the fall. 🍁

It’s also that time of year when we start getting our homes ready for colder weather (whether we’re ready for what comes after fall or not! 😄).

While you’re checking things off your fall to-do list, it might be a good time to check in with us, too. Have you made improvements to your home this year? Added a vehicle? Bought something new? Had a change in the family? Or has it simply been a while since we sat down and reviewed everything together?

Life changes—and sometimes our insurance needs to change right along with it.

🔥 A Little Fall Reminder About Fire Safety

October brings Fire Prevention Week, and as those cooler evenings settle in, furnaces start running, fireplaces get used again, candles get lit, and before long we’ll be plugging in a few more things around the house.

It’s a great reminder to test those smoke detectors (yes, the ones we all walk past every day!), check around your home for potential fire hazards, and make sure everyone in the family knows what to do in an emergency.

And here’s another question worth asking: Do you really know what your homeowners or renters insurance would do for you if you had a fire?

If your answer is, “Well...sort of,” you’re definitely not alone!

🚗 Is There a New Driver in Your House?

If you have a teenager who recently got their license—or one who is counting down the days until they do—you know this stage comes with a whole mix of emotions.

They’re excited about the freedom.

Mom and Dad? Maybe just a tiny bit nervous. 😉

October 18–24 is National Teen Driver Safety Week, which makes this a great time to have those important conversations about distractions, speed, seat belts, passengers, and the responsibility that comes with having those car keys in their hand.

It’s also a good time to talk with us. Adding a young driver can bring a lot of insurance questions, and we’re happy to walk through them with you, explain your options, and help you understand what it all means for your family.

🎃 And Finally...Here Come the Trick-or-Treaters!

Halloween night is one of those evenings when our neighborhoods are just a little more exciting—and a whole lot busier!

There will be excited kids, costumes that aren't always easy to see, families walking from house to house, and plenty of extra activity along our streets and sidewalks.

If you’re behind the wheel, slow down and keep an extra eye out. And if you’re handing out candy at home, turn on those porch lights, keep walkways clear, and enjoy seeing all those little ghosts, superheroes, princesses, and who-knows-what-else show up at your door! 🎃👻
